Note: The ribbing is very stretchy and fits various sizes. Best worn with 10.5-13.5 cm / 4-5” negative ease.
Yarn: Toft Alpaca Aran (100% British alpaca; 115 m / 125 yds per 100 g skein)
Shade: Silver; 2 (2) skeins
Gauge: 20 sts & 21 rows = 10 cm / 4” over cable pattern on 6.5 mm needles
20 sts & 22 rows = 10 cm / 4” over 1x1 twisted rib on 5.5 mm needles
Needles: 5.5 mm / US 9 circular needle, 40 cm / 16” length
6.5 mm / US 10½ circular needle, 40 cm / 16” length
6.5 mm / US 10½ DPNs for crown shaping
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.
Notions: Toft Alpaca fur pom pom in Cream, 1 stitch marker, cable needle, tapestry needle
Notes: For a neat cast-on edge, use a 5.5 mm straight needle to cast on stitches. With 5.5 mm circular needles, knit your first row of twisted rib. Join in the round and continue rib. When weaving in loose ends, make sure to close the small gap in the cast-on edge.
