AMANE
AMANE
amirisu launched Travel Vol 2 A Day in Naoshima back in 2024. This fairly new series draws inspiration from Japanese cities. Vol 1 featured Nara while Vol 2 focuses on Naoshima, an island known for its museums of art and design.
Fiona remembers discovering issues of amirisu while she worked on the shop floors at the yarn shop, Loop, in London, UK. Since then, she’s watched the magazine grow along side their list of publications, plus the arrival of their own line of yarn.
Amane is Fiona’s contribution to Vol 2 collection of patterns, a relaxed, dropped shoulder pullover with side seams that are open almost all the way to the underarm.
Two strands of amirisu’s own Flutter are held together to create a final fabric is very luscious and light. Amane feels like a cloud in sweater form and that’s thanks to the texture of Flutter..

Note
The design is a relaxed, dropped shoulder pullover with side seams that are open almost all the way to the underarm. The front and back are knit flat before being joined at the shoulders. The sleeves are then pick up and knit from the body. The underarms and small side seams are then closed before a small hem is picked up along each side seam which is them seen down in place to create a placket that overlaps slightly.
Two strands of Flutter are held together to create a final fabric is very luscious and light. The main texture featured on this pullover is a chunky ribbing of stocking stitch and garter stitch worked with the yarn held double. The collar, cuffs and side seam hems are worked with only one strand of yarn in a smaller 4x3 ribbing.
